Open Question: If certain dog breeds prefers hot or cold weather with an air conditioner or heater bother them?

I am thinking of getting a Saint Bernard or Newfoundland in the future and I live in central Virginia with hot humid summers and freezing winter with snow and it is 4 seasons and my house has an automatic air conditioner for the summer and automatic heater for the winter.I heard these breeds prefer to be indoors with family but then does that mean the heater would make them uncomfortable and outdoors in a yard away from family will make them uncomfortable and during the summer being outside is uncomfortable does that mean in the winter keep them outside and in the summer keep them inside where it is air conditioned...
